Christmas in the Square, Frisco TX

The 2009 Christmas in the Square is going to be bigger and better than before, with over 450,000 visitors expected! The largest choreographed holiday lights and music display in Texas is combined with family-oriented activities to produce a "signature destination event" for Frisco. Christmas in the Square lights and music will commence on November 27, 2009 and will continue each evening through January 3, 2010.

Christmas in the Square is an unmatched holiday extravaganza. The largest choreographed holiday lights and music display in Texas is combined with family-oriented activities to produce a "signature destination event" for Frisco and North Texas. Thanks to exposure on the Web, news coverage and a variety of sites and blogs, Christmas in the Square received global exposure and acclaim. Christmas in the Square is centered on the family. The lights and music show and most of the activities (even parking) are free to everyone, thanks to the generosity of our sponsor partners and the owners of Frisco Square.

Christmas in the Square drew more than 406,000 visitors during December 2008. Families, friends and holiday guests from through-out north Texas, the D/FW Metroplex and southern Oklahoma came and enjoyed the spectacular show. Lights! Music! Snow! Holiday lights and music choreographed by Frisco's own Jeff Trykoski (Illumimax LLC). With over 100,000 lights, 9.1 miles of wiring and 5.5 miles of extension cords.

DART-Dallas Area Rapid Transit/TRE-Trinity Railway Express

I rode the DART train for the first time a few weeks ago to Victory Park for the Dallas Mavericks Game and I was very impressed! I have since taken the train to my office in Dallas and taking the DART and the TRE to Fort Worth.  The only downfall for me is that it doesn't come far enough north, but it soon will! I plan on taking it more often now and if you are in the area, I highly recommend it!

Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) gets you around Dallas and 12 surrounding cities with modern public transit services and customer facilities tailored to make your trip fast, comfortable and economical. Our extensive network of DART Rail, Trinity Railway Express (TRE) and bus services moves more than 220,000 passengers per day across our 700-square-mile service area.

Ride the rails to more destinations and more savings:

The DART Rail System provides fast, convenient service to work, shopping and entertainment destinations in Dallas, Garland, Plano and Richardson. Plus, our TRE commuter line links DART customers to DFW International Airport and downtown Fort Worth.

Free parking is available at most rail stations, and all are served by DART bus routes specially timed to make transfers between buses and trains quick and easy.

Popular shopping and entertainment destinations near DART Rail stations in Dallas include NorthPark Center and Upper Greenville Avenue (Park Lane Station), West Village (Cityplace Station), Mockingbird Station (Mockingbird Station), the Dallas Museum of Art (St. Paul Station), American Airlines Center (Victory Station), the entertaining West End Historic District (West End Station), Fair Park (Fair Park Station and MLK, Jr. Station), the Dallas Convention Center (Convention Center Station), and the Dallas Zoo (Dallas Zoo Station).

Popular destinations in surrounding cities include the Renaissance Hotel and the Eisemann Center for the Performing Arts (Galatyn Park Station in Richardson); Downtown Plano, the ArtCentre of Plano and the Courtyard Theater (Downtown Plano Station); the Granville Arts Center (Downtown Garland Station); and Downtown Irving (South Irving Station).

Take the train to American Airlines Center:

Whether you're headed to a concert, a Dallas Mavericks basketball game or a Dallas Stars showdown on the ice, ride DART Rail to events at American Airlines Center (AAC). Coming from Fort Worth or the Mid-Cities? The TRE is the ticket Monday through Saturday. Visit www.DART.org/Victory for details.

Fly us to DFW Airport or Dallas Love Field:

The TRE gets you to and from DFW International Airport for a fraction of the cost of taxi fare or long-term parking. Just take it to CentrePort/DFW Airport Station and transfer to the DFW Airport bus serving airline terminals. Airport buses meet all trains, departing every 15 minutes Monday through Saturday. There is no Sunday service. Airport bus service between the rail station and the airport terminals is free. Visit www.DART.org/DFWAirport for details.

Ride bus Route 39 from Dallas Love Field to downtown Dallas' West Transfer Center seven days a week. Across the street is DART's West End Station. Visit www.DART.org/LoveField for details.

Experience exciting Fort Worth via the TRE:

Downtown Fort Worth is now just about an hour's ride from Union Station in downtown Dallas via the TRE. Business commuters love the convenience - and if you're looking for a Saturday adventure, Cowtown is Wowtown! From Fort Worth's Intermodal Transportation Center (ITC) or T&P Station it's a short bus ride to the bustling Sundance Square dining and entertainment district in the heart of the city, the historic Fort Worth Stockyards Old West district, or the famed museums in the city's Cultural District. TRE information is available at http://www.trinityrailwayexpress.org/.

Save big with our low fares:

DART offers three basic, one-way fares - $1.75 for Local bus and rail service; $2.50 for System service, which includes express bus service between downtown Dallas and free Park & Ride facilities in Addison, Carrollton, Farmers Branch, Glenn Heights, Irving, Plano and Rowlett; and $3.75 for Regional service, which includes all DART and The T buses, DART Rail and all TRE trains.

TRE fares are in two zones: $2.50 one-way to all stops between downtown Dallas and West Irving Station; $3.75 between stations in Dallas County and Tarrant County. The DART Day Pass is an even better value at $4.00 for a local (valid on local buses, DART Rail trains and FLEX service along regular route), $5.00 for a system (valid on all DART buses, DART Rail trains, DART On-Call, and the TRE from Union Station to West Irving Station) or $7.50 for a regional pass (valid on all DART buses and trains, DART On-Call, TRE trains (from Union Station to T&P Station), and the T in Fort Worth).

Money-saving monthly passes are available at Minyard, Carnival, Sack 'n Save and Albertsons food stores throughout our service area. A DART Local monthly pass provides unlimited local service for just $65 -- a real deal for commuters. Passes also are available at the DART Store at Akard Station in downtown Dallas.

With DART's Annual Pass, companies can provide their employees with bus and rail service for just pennies a day per employee. Whatever the size of your firm, we can tailor a pass program to your exact needs. The Annual Pass is an effective recruitment tool, an unbeatable employee perk and a great way to help North Texas reduce ozone-causing emissions. For more information, call 214-747-7433 (RIDE) or visit http://www.dart.org/.

Share the ride and save:

If riding a DART bus or train doesn't fit your schedule, you can still save time and money in our carpool and vanpool programs. Our free RideShare computerized match list puts you in touch with other commuters with similar schedules and travel habits who want to share the ride. Details are available at www.DART.org/vanpool.

Plus, rush-hour carpoolers and vanpoolers qualify to use DART's 84-mile network of interim HOV lanes. DART operates HOV lanes on East R. L. Thornton Freeway (I-30) between Downtown Dallas and Northwest Drive; Stemmons Freeway (I-35) between LBJ Freeway (I-635) and Round Grove Road; LBJ Freeway between I-30 and Luna Road; I-35E/US 67 from Downtown Dallas to Camp Wisdom Road; I-30 (Tom Landry Highway) between S.H. 360 and Loop 12; and U.S. 75 between I-635 and Exchange Parkway.

Beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, teacher.

Cory was born in Aurora, Colorado to Allen and Rebecca Shryock. She was older sister to Allen, Jr. and Josh. In 1983 her family moved to Salt Lake City, Utah.
At age 14, Cory Shryock met Bryan Ausenbaugh. It was the beginning of their life's journey together. Bryan and Cory were married December 31, 1993. Their son James Baker, "J.B.", was born April 1, 1998. Their daughter Rebecca Kay, "Becca", was born September 6, 1999.
The Ausenbaugh family moved to the Dallas area and ultimatley settled in Prosper, Texas. Cory loved her job at Rucker Elementary school. While working there, Cory also juggled her home, family and the completion of her college degree.

November/December...I love this time of year!

I always love this time of year because the weather is turning colder and the holidays are approaching! Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's always it gives us the opportunity to get together with friends and family, when throughout the year, we seem to busy to do so.  We started out this year with my parents coming down for the kids games on Halloween and them staying to help the kids carve pumpkins.

Robert's dad and Karen came down, as they always do in November and we had a great time, as usual.

.

I love the holidays because it reminds me of all the good times I had with my family when I was a kid, because of tradition and for all the great times and memories we have made and continue to make with my children.

We start out decorating our home with fall leaves and flowers and pumpkins and move on to overdoing it with Christmas decorations!  (Robert always teases me about have 20 boxes of decorations for Christmas and only one for every other holiday!)

Halloween is only fun because the kids love to dress up and my parents have joined us on Halloween since Reagan was a baby.

Thanksgiving is always special. When I was a kid, it always meant traveling to Stillwater, OK to be with my family there and family, from everywhere, would be there.  We talked, played, road dirt bikes, went to movies and just enjoyed being with each other.  Although we stopped that several years ago, Thanksgiving still means being with family, usually at my parents, aunt and uncles in Granbury, eating too much turkey, drinking too much ;),  playing with ALL the animals out there and watching football.

Christmas was amazing and is still my favorite holiday. My mom made it perfect every year and still does! We always celebrated on Christmas Day and continue to do so with my kids.  Christmas Day much like Thanksgiving, but with TONS of presents!  We get together, eat too much, drink too much and just have a great time!

I’m so looking forward to the holidays and being cozy with my family and seeing my kids' faces light up as they dig into the mounds of presents...priceless!

"The Dahlhouse" Our Story

In the Beginning...

Robert and I met when he walked in for a haircut while I was working as a stylist at 'Hair Bizz'. Although we were both in relationships, we were immediately attracted to each other. Our seemingly opposite personalities, (we think of them as complimentary now), may have induced the initial attraction, but we're not so different from each other now. Naturally, our friendship and attraction for each and a need for a new start, rapidly grew into something more.

The Early Years...

From courtship to engagement to marriage. Life, and love, move fast when encouraged by tender feelings and a hope for the future.

"Life, and love, move fast"

July 20, 2003 we took off to Las Vegas, NV and "tied the knot" at The Little White Wedding Chapel. The trip to the Vegas was the last adventure that we would face before we really were together.

The first few years after we were married were quite a ride, to say the least! We have made it through so much together; more than most could make it through and still stay together, there are many times we have made each others life difficult and times when others have made life difficult (employers, ex-spouses, their significant others, etc).

Through all of that, we have a deeper, more mature love and appreciation for each other, our children and for life.

With all that life has thrown at us, we know that forgiveness is the key to finding peace and happiness. We learned to forgive and move forward with love and the strength that comes from God.

We have never claimed to be perfect and now know that we are loved by our true friends and family and that our worth is not affected by anyone's opinion of us, but from the belief we have in ourselves.

Our Children...

Together, we share 4 beautiful kids.....

Reagan, who is 13, is enjoying being a teenager and hanging out with friends and running up the cell bill! :)

Trey, who is 11, Trey enjoys playing on his new baseball team and being in Jr. High.

Emma, "Diva Dahl", who is 5, is in kindergarten and cheerleading.

Matthew, who is 15 and lives in Keller, although we don't see him much due to his family's negative influence and brainwashing.  We miss him!

And last but not least,  Max Chico Maynard Dahl, our spoiled rotten Shizu/Chihuahua.

Current Events...

The "DahlHouse" resides in Prosper, Texas, a small town outside of Frisco, Texas over a year ago. We love the area, the "small town" feel, the schools, our home and church.

Robert is working at Ericsson in Plano and I started a new real estate company, American Southwest Realty Group and Substitute Teach in the Prosper ISD.

We spend all of our spare time playing as a family-we take walks, play sports, go to movies, sporting events, town festivities, the kids' activities (and there are A LOT), and enjoy what small town life has to offer and we all love to travel!  Of course, the girls and I love the nearby Frisco shopping!
